Flash! Sparkle! Pop! It’s Fourth of July! PIER 39 celebrates Independence Day with fun for the whole family featuring musical entertainment and activities in the entrance Plaza. At approximately 9:30 p.m., The City of San Francisco will treat spectators to an elaborate fireworks display over the San Francisco Bay. The best location to enjoy a festive Fourth of July is at PIER 39.

4th of July Fireworks Spectacular with the San Francisco Symphony
The San Francisco Symphony performs its annual Fourth of July concert and celebration. Each year, the symphony switches up its musical theme to create a unique experience for guests. 28th Independence Day Festivities in Milbrae
The Milbrae Independence Day Festival provides an opportunity for community service organizations to raise funds buy selling food, merchandise or giving out information on their organization. There are also arts and craft booths and entertainment for the thousands of people that attend the festival immediately after the parade.

July 4th Fireworks, Parade, and Picnic in Sausalito
Sausalito claims to have the best July 4 fireworks show in Marin County this year. The day starts with the parade at 10:00 a.m., featuring bands and floats with everything from jazz to rock performers. That’s followed by a picnic at Dunphry Park from noon till 5 p.m., which features live music, dancing, family games, a tug-of-war, and the traditional egg toss. The celebrations then move to Gabrielson Park at 6 p.m. and culminate with a fireworks display at 9:20 p.m.

The 161st Annual Vallejo July 4th Parade is on, with the theme “Let Freedom Ring!” Parade step off is 10:00 a.m. The 2014 Vallejo 4th of July Parade will travel on its traditional route beginning at Broadway and Tennessee, then turns left on Sonoma Blvd, then right on Georgia through downtown. Enjoy the day and return to the Vallejo waterfront for FIREWORKS.

Watch the fireworks from the Bay Area Ridge Trail. Depending on visibility, expect to see various communities’ fireworks around Solano, Napa, Sonoma, Marin, San Francisco, and Contra Costa. The hike is 4.5 miles round trip, over uneven terrain, at a mostly moderately easy pace with some moderately strenuous slopes.

Old Fashioned Fourth of July
The San Mateo County History Museum will present an Old Fashioned Fourth of July within its building, the 104-year-old county courthouse in Redwood City.
